1 | Why would someone get rebaptised? | Bible general Archive 1 | comptong | 41743
I cannot find anywhere in the Bible that talks about being rebaptised. I know that my church does this. I thought that once you were baptised you recieved salvation and didn't need to get rebaptised. Then what would be the purpose of this? Can anyone help me. |

My church believes that one must first be able to understand what baptism is, and what it means prior to being baptised-thus, for those who come from other churches and were baptised as infants, that baptism is not recognized and thus the individual is offered a chance for baptism since as an infant they had no choice in the matter and did not know who Jesus was, and did not know the difference between right and wrong, heaven and hell.

The Bible says believe and be baptized, in that order. I have never seen or heard of a baby believing in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. A baby has no vocabulary and a person can't think beyond their vocabulary! Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Acts 18:8 And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized. |
