Curt, I too struggle with the election-free will question and do not presume to have all the answers, or even most of them -- or yet even one absolutely definitive answer that goes beyond saying that I believe God is sovereign. What I said earlier about asking WHY God does this or that can, to my mind, be fairly asked also of HOW God does this or that. God is sovereign and He alone has the supreme power in all things, and this would include how He exercises His power of election. If I presume to know all about how God does what He does, I am admitting to the possession of infinite wisdom on a par with God's. And at the same time I am admitting, though being aware of it, that I am a pitiable fool. Has God sovereignly "elected" to grant the human race any degree of "free will"? But this is rhetorical, Curt; I don't intend to open up yet another debate! Blessings to you also. --Hank | ||||||
