Glenn, I'm going to throw a verse at you, Then read Gen 1:2. Also note how many times the Word Create (Not make or made) is in Gen 1. Isaiah 45:18 For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens (He is the God who formed the earth and made it, He established it and did not create it a waste place, but formed it to be inhabited), "I am the LORD, and there is none else. I know I will probably get bombed and I don't know how well I can defend the position on this right now. But I believe that something happened between verses Gen 1:1,2. I think it was when Satan fell. Can't prove this but I know something had to happen between 1 and 2. And we know the angels fell we just don't know when. We know by the account of Adam that it had to be during that time or before that time. I am guessing before because there was a tree of Good and Evil in the midst of the Garden. There was no evil prior to Satan's fall. Anyway I believe that is when the first flood happened. thus making the earth waste and desolate. (possibly the Ice Age.) I heard one creation scietist say that the ICe age happened after the flood I can't find it anywhere in scripture. Any way just a thought. Researching it as I go. In Christ, Darcy |

Darcy, I've long been aware of the existence of a period between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. That period is a punctuation mark and nothing more. [You will notice that there is a period (.) at the end of Genesis 1:1 after the word "earth."] ..... Don't tell me you've been zapped by the gap -- the Gap Theory! Verse 1 is a summary statement: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Verse 2 and following pick up the narrative and describe the sequence of events pertaining to God's creation. No "gaps" in the creative process are stated or implied. There is to my knowledge no revelation in Scripture that provides enough evidence on which to build an hypothesis of when God created angels or when Satan fell. Similarly, with the date of His creation of the heavens and the earth. No scientist has ever been able to pinpoint that. We know as much about the time of creation as any scientist knows (but is not likely to admit). We know that God created the heavens and the earth "in the beginning" because the Bible tells us so. --Hank | ||||||
