Dear Brother Tim, I don't know of any theories in that respect. The last theory I mentioned was in post #164735. In Him, Doc |

Greetings Doc! In your quote, to which post I attached the question, you quoted Matt Perman (165815). I have heard this theory before, so I was just curious as to how you thought it related to Rom. 7:14-25. The theory says that one always chooses according to one's greatest desire. Yet, Paul says in Rom. 7:14-25, the person Paul describes does not choose to do what he wants, rather he chooses what he does not want. Just curious! Have a great day my friend! Dear Brother Tim, I've not heard of any theory. Something new perhaps? They are always doing that. Thank goodness we have the sufficient, inerrant, infallible, clear, and necessary Word of God. What I was talking about was the human ontology and epistemology as revealed by God in Scripture. Conflicted people, aren't we? One moment wanting a thing, the next wishing we hadn't chosen that path. As the mind is transformed by the Word, and we walk in a way that is conducive to the work of the Holy Spirit, mortifying the deeds of the flesh, by God's grace, we can yield our members more and more as instruments of righteousness. Sadly, sin has infected every part of a man. He can no longer think as he was created, love as he was created, or desire as he was created. In Him, Doc |
