1 | fall upward? | 1 Tim 4:1 | Robert Nicholson | 33290
Brother Zach: I am not trying to be confrontational. However, you have cited the inspired word of God as your reason for believing that a person can fall away from the faith. I have suggested that this is in the light of profession. Peter teaches us "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction" These false prophets were among them and yet their goal was to bring in their own teaching which is damnable heresises which denied the Lord that bought them. I also rest upon the inspired word of God and on the promises made by the Saviour himself. One of my favorities is John 5:24 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." In this verse we are promised a present possession, life and that we shall not come into judgement. How then can we suggest that the Lord Jesus was mistaken in his promises? In the parable of the wheat and the tares, they both grow together and look alike, but at the harvest only the wheat has value and the tares are burned. I feel this is a picture of Christian profession. God bless you anyhow. I am secure in him Robert |

Your statement: I also rest upon the inspired word of God and on the promises made by the Saviour himself. My answers: Jesus Christ never mistaken in his promises! But my friend we have to define who are those believed in Him and hear his Vioce and have everlasting life. Can you justify who are those? I do believe in these verses also: Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. We have to define who are those consider belongs to His flock that no one can snatch away. How we could be consider to His flock? is that by your saying that you are save? is that because your pastors baptize you in trinity? Christ define who are those consider saves: Mt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Jesus Christ define that if you stay in Him until the end you shall be saved. That is the definition to stay in Him forever. Now how can you define you self as save? How long are you in Christ 10 years 20 years, is that consider the end. It is clear that Jesus define that who stay with him until the end shall be saved. It is not by matter of 1 month or 2 or 3 but until the end. It is dangerous to be consider save in our own definition, or human definition: 1Co 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. He said Re 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: "unto the end" meaning until the end of our life, not for the matter of months. Heb 6:4-6 stated the tendency of falling away. Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame The promises of Christ are belongs to serve Him continually: Ro 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. So it is very clear my friend, that become consider as belongs to flock of Jesus Christ is who stay with with Him until the end: Mt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. It is Jesus Christ define that my friend not me, not you! because no one can justify us but God. We have to stay in Him forever to be consider belongs to His flock! God bless, Johnny |

3 | fall upward? | 1 Tim 4:1 | Robert Nicholson | 33394
God bless you too Johnny The Lord knoweth them that are his. I guess we disagree on eternal security. I belong to Christ because he called me by his Spirit when I was lost and in my sin. I put my trust in him who died for me upon the cross. My salvation does not depend on baptism by a minister or some church creed. I plead only the precious blood of Christ which was shed on Calvary's cross and that he lives at the right hand of God on high peace in his name Robert |

Robert, I dont know if you agree or digagree, with the passages that I quoted that "those who stay with Him forever shall be consider save" who are belong to His flock. Do you tell me that you dont have to stay with Him forever and then consider save? Meaning if you receive Him for a while then go back to your old life you still consider save? God bless, Johnny |

5 | fall upward? | 1 Tim 4:1 | Robert Nicholson | 33420
Brother Johnny: I apologize for not getting back sooner. I will look at the scriptures which you provided me with on your last post at get back to you tomorrow morning if the Lord will. Just a few thoughts on eternal security. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" When we trust Christ we are changed from within and given new life in him. Our new nature in him desires to please him and live for him. However, we still have the old nature which would try to draw us away from our purpose in Christ. This is a daily war which the believer encounters every day. However, when we are born again we are placed as sons in the family of God. We may fail him through coldness of heart and sin and yet we remain a son. Sometimes we confuse the position which we have been brought into by Christ with discipleship. I will be back Peace in his Name Rober |
