1 | some more things to consider... | 1 Tim 3:1 | bjanko | 12125
Those OT examples are a demonstration of God's righteousness and will be performed on the last day. Additionally, God judged in Christ all the sins of his elect people. Those OT principles are still valid. But the problem is there is no Christian theocracy active now as there was in the land of Palestine back then. But when Christ returns, the theocracy will be restored and so will its judgments of those who are pagan, who rejected Christ, or are tares in the spiritual "kingdom" of today. |

2 | Did Jesus die _only_ for the elect | 1 Tim 3:1 | RWC | 13444
This question could start a totally different subject that has nothing to do with this verse, and that is not really my intent. But I need to ask you just the same. When you wrote, "Additionally, God judged in Christ all the sins of his elect people," are you really intending to imply that Jesus died _only_ for the elect? I understand that's not quite what you said, but it sounds as though that may be what you are thinking. If so, I would have some further questions for you. |

Oh boy.. Here we go again. The whole election/predestination issue has already been fought on this Forum over several threads.. Please check the threads on Romans 5:6, 1 John 2:2, "Arminianism vs. Calvinism", etc. etc... One only needs to check my profile to see where I stand on this issue. --Nolan |
