1 | what does ephesians 4:9 mean-"descended" | Eph 4:9 | PDAL | 184079
Greetings CDBJ!....I would be happy to clear up some things.Alot gets lost in our meanings over our P.C.,To me last and second mean the same.Sorry!--It is better said last Adam.1Cor.15:47 GOD created only two corperate men in the earth. The first man was of the earth, made of dust;the second man is the Lord from heaven.NKJV.1Cor.15:45-54 is some very good reading.Once we ask Jesus into our heart by choice of course(not automatic)there is a change that takes place in our spirit. In Adam our condition was spiritual death.By asking Jesus into our heart that condition changes from death to eternal life(denotes quality as to duration). It's His life in us.1John5:11,12 And this is the testimony:that GOD has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.12 He who has the Son has life;he who does not have theSon of God does not have life.Because of this we have become NEW CREATIONS IN CHRIST!AMEN!I'm not a sinner saved by grace,I'm a NEW CREATION IN CHRIST!....I hope it's becoming clearer. As you seek HIM it will.....PDAL
2 | what does ephesians 4:9 mean-"descended" | Eph 4:9 | CDBJ | 184087
Greetings PDAL, That’s starting to sound better to me now but where exactly is it in Scripture that I can find what you suggest? You made the statement. “Once we ask Jesus into our heart by choice of course(not automatic)there is a change that takes place in our spirit. In Adam our condition was spiritual death. By asking Jesus into our heart that condition changes from death to eternal life” Where does God promise to do anything for us if we invite or ask Jesus into our heart, or is that just an assumption? I sure would like to have that “chapter and verse” if you could please, I can’t seem to find it in any of the Bibles that I have access to. What translation are you using? Have a great day, CDBJ |

3 | what does ephesians 4:9 mean-"descended" | Eph 4:9 | jonp | 184090
Hi I expect that PDAL has in mind such Scriptures as 'If a man love Me he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him' (John 14.23). And 'behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and He with me' (Revelation 3.20). Or 'that according to the riches of His glory He may grant you to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith' (Ephesians 3.16-17). The heart is of course indicative of the inner being. If we are to be truly saved each of us has to have Christ within us and living through our inner being (compare Galatians 2.20). Best wishes Jonp.

Hi Jonp, The verse you quoted, Rev. 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. Keeping the verse in context, is it actually directed towards believers or unbelievers? Is that verse indicative of regeneration or restoration to fellowship? In other words is Christ inferring His initial indwelling or an arising, due to a restraint, when he uses the word, (eiserchomai) in the original language? I’m enjoying you posts as well as PDAL's. I hope you're enjoying the forum but I sure would like to see a little more about you in your "personal" profile! Have fun, CDBJ |
