Hi Doc, This is a hoot! I started reading that post before I looked to see who sent it. I was thinking to myself, as I was reading; I’m going to ask Doc if this is true, then I got to the bottom and notice it was you that sent it. Now what do I do; have fun, CDBJ An after thought, Have you ever considered that you were never really broken off from the natural tree? Surly the Lord knew, so why break you off just to graft you back in again; you have probably just been pruned on a little bit and the Lord know just where to clip! Emphasis being on the word “some”, not all were broken off, and notice wild olive grafted in among “them” and with “them” partakest of the root and fatness. It looks to me like “you” are one of the “them”. Romans 11:17 And if “some” of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; What a great heritage, CDBJ |

Dear Brother CDBJ, You asked, "Have you ever considered that you were never really broken off from the natural tree?" Yes, I had. But that would imply that salvation was meritable as a matter of genetics. Worse still, it would imply that salvation was through something other than the atoning power of Jesus alone through faith alone by grace alone. You see, once I was lost, now I am saved. When I was lost, would I have been part of the tree? :-) However, we aren't left to speculate about such things. Paul goes on and writes, "And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again." (Romans 11:23 ESV) I praise God, thanking Him daily, that once broken off, He in His divine grace, has grafted me back in again! In Him, Doc |
