Subject: "Women being silent" |
Bible Note: As I read the dialogue regarding "Women being silent" I noticed something. The scriptures that were outlined pertained to women who had a husband; which would be the role of wife. The creation of the woman was always a part of God's plan. The order of creation was perfect for as man noticed the male and female animals; then God relayed this powerful and profound truth. When God created all things He said "It is good." Yet, for man to be alone God said that is not good. And, Adam was promoted :-). Please excuse me for jumping around... Now, the word "usurp" by definition means to take authority by force. (And, I have seen this happen too many times in the marriage union.) Now, I Tim 2 opens with admonishment for prayer and for "all in authority." And at the latter part of the chapter when the woman is mentioned the direction again went toward a marriage union. Also, women having positions of authority is not a A.D. occurence. We find that Deborah was a judge - in the book of Judges. History identifies notable queens, e.g. Queen Esther; as well as, notable women mentioned in the genealogy found in Matthew 1. Also, historians give the probable dates for the book of I Timothy as unknown. The probable date for Galatians 55 and 60 a.d. II Timothy probable dates between 65 and 67 and in this book the Apostle Paul acknowledges Timothy's grandmother and mother with credit for Timothy's faith -- maybe they did some teaching. Paul spent time and was taught by Aquilla and Priscilla. Which I will quote Gal 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." Those who are led by the spirit are the sons of God. I don't know if I said everything that came to me or if you can follow me... I just trust that we will "...hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man." And, I believe it is referring to all mankind. And the apostle Paul also says those who are unmarried is concerned about the things of the Lord 1 Cor 7:32-34. Let us be about our Father's business. |
