NASB | Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 3:28 There is [now no distinction in regard to salvation] neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you [who believe] are all one in Christ Jesus [no one can claim a spiritual superiority]. [Rom 3:22; 1 Cor 12:13] |
Bible Question:
Rom 9:6 But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel; Rom 9:7 nor are they all children because they are Abraham's descendants, but: "THROUGH ISAAC YOUR DESCENDANTS WILL BE NAMED." Rom 9:8 That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants. How does this passage fit with what you stated? Thanks, John |
Bible Answer: Greetings hobbs, Let me see if I'm hearing you right. Are you suggesting that Gen 12:3 is only talking about believers and not the offspring of Abraham in general? Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. "Presuming" that you are right in your opinion, would you say that all of those that God delivered out of Egypt were believers? Many of us, me included, are the wild olive tree and we, only by the grace of God, have been grafted in where the “natural branches” have been “temporally” broken off. The Jews are still the chosen “people” of God and make no mistake about it! I am a firm believer in the following, with emphasis on the word “ALL”. Romans 11:25-28 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. [26] And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: [27] For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. [28] As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. CDBJ |
