2 | can i pay my tithes to my mother? | 2 Cor 9:7 | Renovate Me | 109103
Hi Sonny, There is much debate on the issue of tithe, since it is never mentioned in the New Testament. There certainly would not be anything wrong with giving your mother whatever portion of your income you feel that you can afford, but would it be considered a valid tithe? Again, since Jesus paid the ultimate price for our redemption, what is a tithe for anymore?
3 | can i pay my tithes to my mother? | 2 Cor 9:7 | prayon | 109149
Renovate me, I ask you to type tithes into the quick search at the top right hand corner. YOu may realize that tithing is just as pertinent today as it was in the OT. As for what is a tithe for anymore, it has the same purpose as it did in the OT. It is to care for God's house and to provide for the pastor. When we do not tithe we are robbing God's appointed ones. In addition, when we don't tithe and support those appointed by God to be over us then they will have to go out into the workforce to support themselves. How much ministering will have to be pushed aside that they could of been doing if they could devote 100 percent of their time to doing God's work? prayon
4 | can i pay my tithes to my mother? | 2 Cor 9:7 | Paraclete | 109177
Tithing is a lie. The proper tithe in Hebrew Law was a property tax which was estimated to be about 1-2percent.And if Jesus fullfilled this Law then I don't see the need for this law to remain, heck you've people have discarded the rest of the true faith, why not this too. Paid clergy are'nt neccesary either. The Mormons do just fine with 500,00 ne converts a year and over 15million dollars a day intake of offerrings. They use the 10 percent tithe which I find deceptive but the 15million estimation is in offerrings only. The fact is that most protestants are lazy and slothful greeds who must be compelled to "tithe" or they wouldn't do a thing to suuport their churches. Mormons, JW's and the "cults" as they are referred to are self-sustaining and have no paid clergy.. they indeed work out their own salvation instead of sitting in a pew being entertained each week. |

And to answer question, yes you can pay tithes to your mother. To help the fatherless and widowed and oppressed is the true calling of the Christian. I doubt that God intended to let the tithe support lazy preachers who prefer to preach and not support themselves with their own hands.
