Bible Question:
I do not presently attend church. I was raised in a pastors home and went to church regularly. It has been at least 3 years since attended organized religious church. My question is can i pay my mother my tithes. Since she is on welfare and my dad left her no means of support. They spent 25 years pastoring. thanks, sonny |
Bible Answer: Hi Sonny, There is much debate on the issue of tithe, since it is never mentioned in the New Testament. There certainly would not be anything wrong with giving your mother whatever portion of your income you feel that you can afford, but would it be considered a valid tithe? Again, since Jesus paid the ultimate price for our redemption, what is a tithe for anymore? |
