1 | Why do they prey for the deads salvation | 1 Cor 3:15 | EdB | 143437
Here is the quote I was looking for and couldn't find so I used the first one I gave you. "While Apocryphal literature is found in abundance among the Qumran documents, it is worthy of note that all of the commentaries thus far identified are of canonical books." McDowell, J. (1997, c1991). Josh McDowell's handbook on apologetics (electronic ed.). Nashville: Thomas Nelson. EdB |

jcsav Any book printed before 1992 will have very limited theological info on the Dead Sea Scrolls. Up until that time the Scrolls were mostly studied from a archaeological perspective and any theological discovers were closely guarded secrets for some reason. In 1992 scrolls were clandestinely posted on the Internet. That breakthrough allowed the scrolls to be openly studied and the findings reported. Since then scholars have demanded and have been granted access to the scrolls. To the best of my knowledge all of the scrolls have haven’t yet been completely opened and catalogued and of the ones that are, many are still waiting in depth inspections and translations. There is information breaking fairly frequently and I know facsimiles of the scrolls are available electronically, commercially of course. However current Christian magazines like World and Christianity today report breaking stories and discoveries. You may want to do some searches on the Internet for the latest info but watch the source and make sure it reputable and carries some degree of credibility. I try to determine if the source has an agenda, in my estimation the source without any agenda probably reports closest to the truth. I even say that about sources that have agenda's I agree with. :-) EdB |

EdB the books I used was required reading at a Bible College. I know people that work there. I will make sure they update these material if they have not already done so. Being careful with internet material is always wise, that is why I like books. At least the book that I had, did say that they was still (at that time putting together material from the scrolls. Thanks again.
