1 | imuvhim, What is His baptism? | Acts 2:38 | imuvhim | 79567
You ignore Acts 8? I don't see an answer, I see a dodge. This is the first time I've heard someone suggest that water baptism is commanded. Are disciples to be baptized by the Holy Spirit in the name of the Holy Spirit? That is unbiblical. Jesus told people to get baptized and that's what they did. Don't ignore Acts 8. I thought because this is a NASB sponsored page (maybe I'm wrong) that this would be more Scriptural. But it's not if it allows this.

I am not ignoring Act 8 ... I said "Philip did obey Jesus by baptizing (washing) with water." I had asked you a couple of questions, which you ignore ... Answer the first ... I did the rest. You said ... "I know Jesus baptized with water" ... but what does John 4:1-2 say? You said ... "He commaded 'immersion'" ... I believe it should be 'washing' ... based on Mark 7:4, Luke 11:38, Heb 9:10, Rev 19:13. See post 22971. Philip did obey Jesus by baptizing (washing) with water. Remember, His method was not by water (Matt 3:11; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; John 1:33; Acts 1:5, 11:16). |

You make logical error when you say this. You said ... "He commaded 'immersion'" ... I believe it should be 'washing' ... This is not following the example of burial. Anyone with some deeper education can see the error here. It does not follow that if you wash that you also immerse; But it does follow that if you immerse you also wash. You have been caught in an error. Jesus commanded death, bural, and resurrection in baptism. It pictures his own. In a right baptism the person is also buried--and he is washed. But if he only gets washed, he did not necessarily get buried. I hope you are open to see this truth. |

Scripture ... Mark 7:4, Luke 11:38, Heb 9:10, Rev 19:13 ... Look up the above verses, notice the Greek word. ... compare the Greek words that are translated baptism. To say we immersed before dinner would be silly ... also I wouldn't immerse tables. Look up the above verses, notice the Greek word Also read Post 5606 No matter how much education one has, unless they carefully study the Bible, it is worthless. By your response, you haven't looked at these verses. The end |

I know that baptism is commanded and that it is a burial. I don't need to read the Greek word because somebody else already did that when they made my Bible. It teaches to be immersed. Does anyone else have interest in talking about this topic? Because I don't agree with this person. I did not know people would ignore baptism.
