Greetings, Tim attempted to prove the point you mention. Most of the time when you post, your sentences are so broken that it is difficult to tell what you are saying. Sorry, Disciplerami |

2 | Could this be right? | Acts 2:38 | Ray | 79398 | ||
Hi disciplerami, Putting Searcher's broken sentences aside, he pointed you very well to Acts 5:32. Did you read it? It says that we are His witnesses of these things, NKJ. And so is the Holy Spirit [or holy spirit] WHICH [so says the Greek] God has given to those who obey Him. May I offer to you this rendering of the previous verse that I think would be appropriate to the Greek manuscripts. This is the NKJ with one additional pronoun. Acts 5:31, "Him [this One] God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, that *He/ might give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins." Let us be careful that we are not fighting against God. Compare Acts 5:39 and Acts 23:9, NKJ. For it is He and not water that offers forgiveness of sins. Acts 10:43, "Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him/ receives forgiveness of sins." The slashes are mine for verse comparisons. And yes, I say that I see no water in the verse. From the heart, Ray |
