Greetings Disciplerami! Could it? Yes! I don't personally hold to that view, but simply because the word 'baptism' is used in a passage does not necessarily mean that 'water' baptism is in view. There are other 'baptisms' mentioned in Scripture. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Yes, there are many baptisms in the Bible, but only one that we are commanded to receive. The one that Jesus commanded and all Christians submitted to is the watery burial which pictures His death, burial and resurrection. To deny this is simply to go against Scripture. Sorry to say you are wrong on this :( Have a nice one. We might get snow by the end of the week. Ick! Disciplerami |

Greetings Disciplerami! I like snow! :-) But, I am ready for summer. Are you sure there is only one baptism which we are commanded to receive? John 20:22 says, "And with that he breathed on them and said, 'Receive the Holy Spirit.'" There are several other verses which mention receiving the Holy Spirit as well. Besides my friend, I don't deny that we are commanded to both baptize and be baptized. I just disagree that baptism is necessary to receive salvation. Again, Acts 10:45 makes it clear that they received the promises of Acts 2:38 prior to being baptized. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
