1 | who can explain to me? | John 1:1 | eveready2004 | 120260 | ||
God is only one Almighty God, creator of the world. My appreciation of this topic right now is that there is Only one Almighty God, and his name is Jehovah. In Genesis 1:26, John 1:10 and Col 1:15-17 shows that Jehovah and the Word created the world. However, according Rev 1:7-8,I do not accept that the Almighty God is Jesus Christ. My understanding of this verse here the Almighty is God, not the Word. The difference between the Almighty God and The Word or Jesus Christ; my underanding is that the Almighty God has no beginning and no ending, but the Word has the beginning because Col 1:15-17 shows very clearly. |

Greetings! The New Testament clearly presents Jesus Christ as God. (Titus 2:12, John 1:1, Hebrews 1:8, Romans 9:5, 1 John 5:20-21) Also, these characteristics attributed to Jesus can be true only of God: self-existent (John 1:4, 14:6); omnipresent (Matt 28:20, 18:20); omniscient (Rev1:8; Luke 4:39-55, 7:14-15,Matt 18:26-27) and posessing eternal life (1 John 5:11-12,20, John 1:4)See Josh McDowell's, "More Than a Carpenter." Please re-read Col 1:17. This passage you have referenced is talking about Jesus. How does the Word have a beginning when v 17 states that He was before all things. What things? - Creation. Jesus Christ was incarnate, not created. The Deity of Jesus Christ is at the heart of Christianity. In John 10:30, Jesus says, "I and the Father are one." According to Greek Scholar A.T. Roberston,the Greek word used here for one is neuter, not masculine, and does not indicate one in person or purpose but rather one in "essence or nature." Blessings, mommapbs |
