1 | Do you forgive Judas? | John 13:11 | Ray | 42821
Hi Love Fountain, I think that this is an excellent question. I say that seriously having read all the posts so far. I am sorry that your question is under fire right now. I do forgive Judas. If I go to a place, house, mansion, room, crib, or shack that is near Judas and have a chance to talk to him I would express to him how sorry I am that he could not become a witness for the risen Savior. I would rejoice with him that the Lord loved him to the end. That He continued to be his friend right to the end. That He chose him and that He loses not one. If I can't rejoice with Judas in the love of the Savior for us, then we will have a hard time getting along together in the same block or in the same city. Now if Judas did go to hell and that is his place, the place that he belongs in without the grace of God, (whether by predestination or his own free will) I won't argue with the Potter. All of that is in His hands. I know that I am forgiven of my sins by God's grace. I have the expectant hope that I have a place prepared for me. I would hope that I would not lose it if I get depressed for any reason and kill myself. Why do I forgive Judas? For the same reason that I would forgive anyone; for I do not know the hearts of men. We may be surprised who we see and don't see in heaven. That is up to the Savior and Judge of all men. We should be following our Savior to the end. We should encourage everyone not to betray their friend and companion. But if we see someone sin we should say, "There but for the grace of God go I." From the heart, Ray |

2 | Do you forgive Judas? | John 13:11 | myah | 42851
I would have to say that I forgive Judas also. I have to because that is something that Jesus taught us to do. With his betrayal, That incident sparked the centurion and possibly other doubters to believe that Jesus was(is) the son of God. Not only that but Jesus saved us.I'm happy you asked this question because I was reading in Matt.19:28 and Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed Me in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of His glory ye shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribles of Israel. .... Was he talking about "the twelve?" and if so Jesus knew then that Judas was going to betray him yet his still including him to judge the twelve tribes of Israel in heaven which mean he had already forgiven him for what he was going to do..... that's deep. Maybe I read too much into that verse.... maybe not. So if Jesus forgave him, why can't we?
3 | Do you forgive Judas? | John 13:11 | Robert Nicholson | 42855
Dear Myah: I respectfully disagree that Judas will be part of the 12 who will judge the 12 tribes of Israel. Judas died unforgiven. Judas made a choice and that choice was to sell the Lord Jesus thinking that silver was more precious than the Son of God. Judas did not appreciate who Jesus was even though he had heard his words and saw his mighty miracles. One would think that such a testimony would have convinced anyone as close as Judas to accept Jesus as the Son of God. In Matthew 26 Jesus says "Woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born." Matt. 26:25 Even at this point Judas asked question "Is it I" somehow thinking that Jesus did not know the choice he had already made. Even with this warning Judas did not change his mind or repent of his deed. He is an example of an apostate, one who has been near the truth, saw evidence of the truth and yet, turned against it. Judas was a privileged man, who in the end kissed the door of heaven and then went into a lost hell. We read in Acts of his suicide, and what the prophets had written of him "For it is written in the book of the Psalms, let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein; and his overseership let another take" Acts 1:20 It was at that time that Matthias was chosen to take the overseership of Judas. Judas is an example of one who knew about Jesus, but turned against him making a choice to betray him which was the ultimate sin of unbelief. Where is Judas? I would ask where are all unbelievers who have turned against the strivings of the Spirit of God in grace and have died in their sins? God bless you Robert Nicholson |
