1 | Written word and incarnate Word.Yes? | Luke 8:15 | Emmaus | 111894
Ray, I think the word of God in Luke 8:15 is the good news of the Gospel and the Word of God Incarnate is Jesus. The written word of Scripture is not the same as the Incarnate Word, Jesus, although we can and do encounter the Word of God in the word of God. "God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world" Hebrew 1:1-2 That is how I see it. 2 | Written word and incarnate Word.Yes? | Luke 8:15 | Ray | 111914
Hi Emmaus, I see it as you see it except that I have said that Jesus is the word of God incarnate, in the flesh. John 1:1 says that the Word was God. But the passage says nothing about the Word of God or the word of God. The important thing is that He was in the beginning. Hebrews 1:3, "And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word [sic] of **His power." 2 Peter 1:3, "seeing that **His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence." There is power in the word and knowledge of the truth so that we see His glory. From the heart, Ray |
