1 | Not incest, but adultery? | Mark 6:18 | justme | 77555 | ||
disciplermi: No matter what the termonology we call the sin, John's being upfront and presenting the truth, cost him his life. To be the messenger of truth has cost many Christians their phyical life, and to gain a crown. I am reading a book on Christians who have died for their faith. Some suffered such pain and torture I have had to put the book down several times. I would like to believe my love for Christ would endure such testing. In reality being tortured is very fearful scary thought. My weakness would have to be made strong by the Holy Spirit as surely that would be the ultimate test of endurance, and John endured as dic the others. I imagine the brothers who burried John were deeply tormented by what they saw. We recently had one of our New Tribes missionaries killed last year. So it is possible for any Christian to be put to the test of our faith, in ways we never thought could happen. That's my thoughts, perhaps different than you hoped for. Justme, I appreciate your thoughts and John did pay a heavy price because he stood up for the truth. Here is another question that might help you understand what I'm looking for (the truth): Was Herodias' the lawful wife of Philip, Herod's brother? I looking for some help. Thanks. Disciplerami |
