1 | Why little sign of power in our churches | Mark 16:17 | DarcyA | 93376
I have learned a long time ago not to take the word as God as symbolic unless otherwise it clearing states to do so ie The woman sitting on the seven hills in Revelation. If you take God's Word as symbolic you can make it mean anything you want to make it. Also The prophet Isaiah was not speaking his own words he was speaking the word of God. With all that being said this is not against you in any way, but I have learned not to discuss the word of God with people who take the word of God as symbolically. It is my job to just tell people what the word says. |

That's ok, I understand Preterism is to shocking for someone, so I'll leave it at that. However, the Bible is not entirely literal, and the Prophets did often speak poetically to convey God's message. Take care, SUEDE |

I'm not sure what church you all attend but i have witnessed great power in the church. From healing to debt cancellation. And it was all this year. Power is in the church, because the holy spirit is still and always hovering. It just that some churches are to dry or traditional to get it.

Christian, Thanks for writing. As far as gifts listed in 1 Cor 13:8, those have passed. Healing is a gray area. Debt cancellation I wouldn't call a "gift", but that's great that you guys are taking care of each other. A lack of gifts doesn't mean a lack of the Holy Spirit, it never did. I just believe the Bible demonstrates that they have passed. However, since it is not a salvation issue, to each their own I guess. Take care, SUEDE |
