Not all churches suffer from a power outage, but many of them do. They are paying the consequences of the 17th century movement of modernism and the 20th century movement or post-modernism which have resulted in grave damage to the grids that transmit power from heaven to earth. The creeping trend toward humanism that came in the wake of these movements has caused many churches and essentially whole denominations to fall away from the fundamentals of the Christian faith. My list contains 7 fundamentals. Yours may contain more but it really cannot contain fewer than these. The fundamentals are [1] The authority and inerrancy of Scripture; [2] Creationism; [3] The deity of Jesus Christ; [4] The substitutionary death of Christ; [5] The resurrection of Christ; [6] The reality of God's judgment; and [7] The reality of life after death and the reality of heaven and hell. ..... An examination of churches that "have no power" usually reveals that to a greater or lesser degree they have strayed from one or more of these fundamentals. --Hank | ||||||
