Serenetime, Nolan was not wrong. Read 2 Timothy 3:16, please. And you are not right in depicting Jesus as being always patient in dealing with error. Anyone who tries to paint our Lord as being a goody-goody, namby-pamby milquetoast has not read, or has forgotten, or didn't understand a word of, Matthew 23. Was Jesus patient in Matthew 21:12 as he overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of the dove peddlers? I'm afraid not, Serentime. There is "a time to keep silence, and a time to speak." (Ecclesiastes 3:7). When we read something on this forum that is contrary to the clear teaching of Scripture, it is time to speak. That's what Nolan did and what he continues to do. He owes no man an apology for that. --Hank | ||||||

Thank you my dear friend Hank! You know that I love you, and I will sincerely miss posting with you, my friend! I joined this Forum on 04/12/01, and it will be a miracle (or Moderator :-) ) if my participation here sees its first Anniversary.. My "farewell" to the Forum would not be complete without a message to you, and I praise your efforts and courage of continuing on, in spite of the terrible odds of real, constructive change happening to this Forum. This Forum is without excuse, my friend, and someday, the people of this Forum and its sponsor will be asked to give an account of what they stood for and for what they have written (or what they have allowed to be presented). I praise the Lord for you, my brother in Christ, who I admire and whose friendship I will always cherish! Thank you for a blessed year of friendship on this Forum, and for many years of friendship to come as we both find more faithful ways to invest our time! We have truly and successfully fulfilled our calling as "watchmen" (Ezekiel 33), even though our sponsor (and some members) refuses to listen! But the blame for their error or misguidance cannot be placed upon us, since we have faithfully warned them and 'fought the good fight!' I may be saying "farewell" to the Forum, but I will be your friend for all time! Nolan |

Hi Nolan, I find it hard to believe that you are thinking of disassociating yourself from the forum on such an important thread.:) You spoke with Hank earlier with perhaps 1 Corinthians in mind, perhaps not, but 1 Corinthians 3:9ff says, "For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building uon it. But let each man be careful how he builds on it." I would suggest that we go on to a more important subject in which you can spend your time in a more leading role. I'd like to see you laying down more of the foundational truths and stressing the positives if you are being discouraged by the negatives of the forum and disrespect of the Scriptures being shown by some participants. Now isn't the time to quit. Now is the time to bury cain...or whatever the saying is.:) The "according to the grace of God" of the verse that I quoted earlier reminds me of the "according to" occurances in the book of Ephesians. Would you express some thoughts on that before you continue thinking of saying "farewell?" From the hear, Ray |
