1 | who did cain marry? | Gen 1:1 | Morant61 | 36887
Greetings Love Fountain! There is on major problem with this view my friend - Scripture is clear that God only created Adam and Eve. Therefore, someone had to marry his sister! :-) If we take the view that God must have created other people, then not all would be descended from Adam and Eve. Then, not all would be sinners, since according to Romans death came upon all men (Rom. 5) through Adam. Concerning the Law, are you saying that since Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever that the Law never changes? Do we still offer sacrifices for atonement? Are we all required to be circumcized? The fact that God never changes doesn't mean that the Law never changes or that God doesn't change the way He interacts with us. But, I do agree my friend that endless speculation is pointless! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Dear Tim, Thank you for the response. You state,"Concerning the Law, are you saying that since Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever that the Law never changes?" Yes, the Law does not change. Please forgive me for quoting from the book of Leviticus regarding incest. The book of Leviticus was written to the Priesthood and is filled with statutes and ordinances such as sacrifices for atonement and circumsision and must be left out because of Hebrews 9 and 10, and Colossians 2:14 which state that statutes and ordinaces were nailed to the cross with Jesus. Heb 10:11-12 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; KJV Col 2:14 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; KJV On top of what I have stated with Scripture to support my view, please find that the Law is from God but statutes and ordinances are not from God and He never asked for sacrifices and takes no pleasure in them whatsoever. Jer 7:22 22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: KJV Ps 40:6 6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. KJV Hos 6:6-7 6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. 7 But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me. KJV Thank you for helping me learn this by asking great questions. The Law does not change but man made statutes and ordinances do. Incest is an abomination and a sin, it goes against the law of nature and against the Law of our Father. I see incest abiding under thou shalt not commit adultery and, or thou shalt not covet, take your pick. Bless you, Love Fountain Jer 4:4 4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings. KJV Jer 4:14 14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee? KJV Eph 5:25-32 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Greetings Love Fountain! Thanks for your reply my friend! Just to make sure that I understand your position correctly, are you saying that God is not the author of the statutes in Leveticus? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

4 | who did cain marry? | Gen 1:1 | Love Fountain | 37661
Dear Tim, Thanks for you response. I believe God is the author of the whole Bible. The point I was making is that the book of Leviticus was to the priesthood and must be left out, because Jesus, becoming the High Priest, fulfilled all sacrifices with one sacrifice and all statutes and ordinances were nailed to the cross with Jesus. I made the mistake of quoting from Leviticus and referring to the book as law, when it is not the Law, it is filled with statutes and ordinances which are different. I was responding to fact that you mentioned circumsision and sacrifices for atonement as laws. They were statutes and ordinances for the priesthood, not law for civilians and I apologize for any misunderstanding. God never asked for offerings or sacrifices and they were man made as I supported with Scripture in the previous post. I hope this helps answer your question. Bless you, Love Fountain |

Greetings Love Fountain! Now I'm confused my friend! :-) If God is the author of the whole Bible, then are all the instructions regarding when and how to offer sacrifices instructions from God? You seem to be saying that the commands to sacrifice aren't from God, but they are part of the instructions given to Moses by God. Let me know if I have misunderstood! Dear Tim, God says He never asked for sacrifices in the following verses, Jer 7:22 22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: KJV and, Ps 40:6 6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. KJV The above verses make it clear that God never asked for sacrifices, where does it say God asked Moses to offer sacrifices? Bless you, Love Fountain |

Greetings Love Fountain! How about: 1) Ex. 20:24 - "”‘Make an altar of earth for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, your sheep and goats and your cattle. Wherever I cause my name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you. 25 If you make an altar of stones for me, do not build it with dressed stones, for you will defile it if you use a tool on it. 26 And do not go up to my altar on steps, lest your nakedness be exposed on it.’" 2) Ex. 29:36 - "Sacrifice a bull each day as a sin offering to make atonement. Purify the altar by making atonement for it, and anoint it to consecrate it." 3) Ex. 29:41 - "Sacrifice the other lamb at twilight with the same grain offering and its drink offering as in the morning—a pleasing aroma, an offering made to the LORD by fire." These are just the commands in Exodus, not counting all of the ones in Lev. and Numbers. What about the two verses you quoted? Jer. 7:22 doesn't say that God never commanded sacrifices, it says that "in the day He brought them out of Egypt" (prior to Mt. Sinai), He did not give instructions concerning sacrifices, but simply told them to obey Him. Ps. 40:6 is quoted in Heb. 10:5-12. There, the author makes it clear that the sacrifices were required by the Law, but that Christ is the only sacrifice which could please God. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
