When we are born again [have the indwelling of God's Spirit], we are now able to understand the heart and mind of God thru the knowledge of the son of God. When we know and understand God, we automatically know his will. In other words we know not to kill. Not that there needs to be a written law by God that says dont kill, but that we feel inside of us that that is wrong. It is God's Spirit dealing with our spirit, telling us that it is wrong. We can feel it without ever seeing it written as a law. That feeling is called grace. In the same way, God gives us curtain desires to do his will. For example, if your at church and something is going to take place,[an event],and it requires someone to cook a huge meal for the congregation, and you feel inside a desire to be the one to do it, then that is the holy Spirit prompting your spirit to do it.Simply put, grace is God's Spirit giving you the desires to do His will. It is up to you to learn about the heart of Jesus so that you can grow strong in understanding what His will is! God will always speak to you in accordance to His will. I hope this gives you a better understanding. Read 1Corinthians 2:5 thru 16
3 | How does God speak to us? | Gen 1:1 | itiswritten | 29250
God speaks to us in a still, small voice [inside], He also speaks to us through His Word, or, He may speak to us through just about anything. One thing to remember, though, you need to read and study His Word well because the devil or our own desires can be mistaken for God speaking to us. In these days when psychics are in abundance, we need to know the difference. Most psychics are just charletons...however, some may be those who are possessed by a familiar spirit. They operate through the soul. God speaks to us through our spirit, where His Spirit dwells. The Word of God gives us the ability to discern what is from our soul and what is from our spirit. Hebrews 4:12 "For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Also, God will not contradict His Word and so that is also a way of knowing where that voice may be coming from. By God's Word we can test the spirits, ministries, and any messages we believe we have received from Him. I hope this is helpful.

5 | How does God speak to us? | Gen 1:1 | itiswritten | 29292
Dear Lionstrong, I found that God sometimes speaks to us in a still small voice from experience and from 1 Kings 19: 11-18 ...in these verses of Scripture, Elijah had such an experience: "And he [God] said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD, and behold, the LORD passed by and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: and after the earthquake, a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest there, Elijah? And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: ...and Elijah continued his conversation with the Lord... As far as "inside" all I can say, sometimes it seems to be from inside. The Holy Spirit is inside the believer. It seems to be inside but not from your own self...something you would not think to say or say in that way and it must not contradict Scripture...that's why we need to know the Word so we can tell if it is truly God. It is a still voice because it is not hurrying, or emphatic as though you would not have time to think...God is never rushed and His way is peace and He doesn't have to yell to communicate authority. That's what I mean. And, of course, He can speak to us in any number of other ways. I hope that answers you question alright. Sincerely, Itiswritten. |
