1 | not holding sins against them | Ps 25:18 | srbaegon | 57758 | ||
Hello packer The same way that the following shows we still sin and need to confess the sin: 1 John 1:8-9 (ESV) If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The sin nature still works in us (see Rom 7). We need to be seeking God for cleansing of these. Steve |

that it needs to be forgiven. if someone pays your bill it is forgiven when the bill is stamped paid. jesus said on the cross, it is finished. the question to me is not condemnation for sin but condemnation because lost people are dead. (spiritually) you burn dead bodies outside the city. |

What are you saying? That the whole world now stands forgiven and that everybody is going to heaven? This runs contrary to the Bible and its essential Christian doctrine. This notion of universal salvation (or whatever you want to call it) is not based upon Scripture. The Bible says "he who does not believe will be condemned." Are you saying that just because Christ died on the cross as a substitute for sinners, that everyone automatically believes or that no one needs to believe to be saved? That everyone is forgiven without the need to confess their sins? If so, this teaching is heretical. It is not the teaching of Christ, his Apostles, nor of the church throughout the ages. Moreover, if you are making an assertion here, it is not our job to refute it. The burden of proof lies with the one who makes the assertion. Proof of an assertion does not consist merely in refuting the arguments of the opponents. If you have a point, would you mind telling us what it is, instead of expecting us to tell you what your point is. |

certainly they must believe. just as the person in the wilderness had to look upon the serpent to be saved from snakebite. i didn't say that i was a universalist. i am saying that forgiveness of sin doesn't save a person, it is faith in the act of jesus enough to ask for life. will a man give his son a stone if he asks for bread? neither will the father refuse the spirit to those who ask |
