1 | What is the son's inheritance? | 2 Chr 6:40 | EdB | 105646
The Son's inheritance was all the Father owned. This parable is analogy of Satan's attempt to foil God's plan. He thought if he could kill Jesus that he could somehow claim all that God gave to Jesus. EdB |

2 | What is the son's inheritance? | 2 Chr 6:40 | Ray | 105688
Hi EdB, You called this passage in Matthew 21 a parable. I believe that it is also. I would not capitalize Son because it is not talking about Him. But whether it is only an earthly story or whether it is speaking about Jesus Himself, the only sense in them killing the heir would be if they thought that the heir and the owner were one. But in this earthly story the chief priests and the elders of the people recognized that the owner of the vineyard would come and bring the vine-growers to a wretched end for killing the son. What the vine-growers (the chief priests and elders) wanted were the proceeds from the vineyard. They did not want to work in the vineyard, they just wanted the proceeds from it. I do not see the connections you are making to other Scriptures. The inheritance in this parable is the vineyard. From the heart, Ray |

3 | What is the son's inheritance? | 2 Chr 6:40 | EdB | 105692
Ray This parable is the basic story of the Bible. God the vineyard owner establishes a vineyard ( the world). He then send His prophets to receive of the vineyard (preach to harvest the souls of man) but they are killed just as Bible records. So the vineyard owner then sends his Son who like wise is killed. Then Jesus asks the almost rhetorical question, what would the owner do to those that killed his Son. The men all answer to their own guilt that the owner should kill those that killed His Son. This is kind of like Nathan going to David and telling the story of the rich man that steals the poor families pet lamb. David in anger pronounced that they should be killed and Nathan said that man is you. 2 Sam 12. God is letting these men pronounce judgement upon themselves, thus proving once again his righteous justice. At the time of Christ if a man died without an heir his property was divided by his neighbors. Your right the vineyard is the inheritance which is the world and we are the product of the vineyard. Satan and those who are used of Satan are the men that killed the servants (prophets) and then Jesus. EdB |
