1 | "I pray Thee" Earnestly implore? | 2 Chr 6:40 | Ray | 105642
Hi Hank, Thanks for this post with its excellent thoughts. I didn't know that there are more than 80 prayers in the Bible. For this prayer in 2 Chronicles, and my question concerning it, I knew that one did not have to speak in Elizabethan English to be heard. My concern was that the pronoun was of value and should not be omitted. As a counter of pronouns, I saw the inclusion of "I pray 'Thee'" as being pivotal in comparing 2 Chronicles 6:40 and 7:15. But that is simply my own personal study; I don't know who agrees with me that the pronouns of Deity in many of the prayers can be divisible by three. What is the best way to find a listing of the 80 prayers? From the heart, Ray |

2 | "I pray Thee" Earnestly implore? | 2 Chr 6:40 | Hank | 105682
Ray, the King James Study Bible (Nelson) has a list of prayers of the Bible. Other reference/study Bibles may have a list too, or perhaps you might find a list in other Bible reference works such as a Bible encyclopedia or dictionary. If all else fails, and the interest is widespread, I'll post the list of Bible prayers. [But only as a last resort. The list is long and I am lazy :-) ] --Hank
