1 | I pray Thee and then He will hear? :)) | 2 Chr 6:40 | Ray | 105522
The prayer of Solomon in 2 Chron 6:14-42 has the request that God hear from heaven. I connect the verses 2 Chron 6:40 with 7:14 with the idea of "I pray Thee" and "the I will hear from heaven". So my desire is to convince that the "I pray Thee" of NASB, 1977 or the "I beseech You" of the Amplified be accepted here. 2 Chronicles 6:40, "...let Thine eyes be open, and Thine ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place." 2 Chronicles 7:15, "Now My eyes shall be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place." 2 | I pray Thee and then He will hear? :)) | 2 Chr 6:40 | Mommapbs | 105573
Greetings Ray - I don't know if I understand your question here . . . but this is that track I am following . . . We pray for God to see and hear and He responds. Now, contrast these verses with Eph 1:18 where Paul says, "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints," To me, this verse reminds us to choose to see things from God's perspective - that WE are HIS treasure, His inheritance and that gives us great value and immeasurable worth, for we were bought with the precious blood of Christ! He sees and listens to us, His dear children! Blessings, mommapbs |

3 | I pray Thee and then He will hear? :)) | 2 Chr 6:40 | Ray | 105633
Hi Mommapbs, When we look at things from God's perspective do we go right away to a bold-faced WE? I agree that we are loved and treasured by God as His possession; but I am not sure that we are His inheritance. Looking at Ephesians 1:18 I would say that the inheritance in the saints is that spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. That Holy Spirit or holy spirit is the down payment and pledge of our inheritance. So really I should be expressing the balance that is there. God hears our words from His dwelling place, but from God's perspective we should be hearing His words of treasure. Psalm 5:1, "Give ear to my words, O (Lord), Consider my groaning. Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King, and my God, For to Thee do I pray. In the morning, O Lord, Thou wilt hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to Thee/ and eagerly watch." 2 Chronicles 6:15, "who has kept with (Thy) servant David, my father, that which Thou has promised [Lit. spoken to] him; indeed, Thou hast spoken with Thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with Thy hand, as it is this day." So we pray to our King and our God and He hears; and the things that He promised to David, He has spoken with His mouth. It is a two-way conversation. John 8:47, "He who is of God hears the words of (God)..." From the heart, Ray |

For your consideration: "But when the vine-growers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.' Matthew 21:38. Who is the son and what is the son's inheritance? Blessings, mommapbs |
