Scripture ... Matt 7:28-29, 23:1-32 ... The Bible is Right, greetings, again, Let me add to what Makarios posted. Jesus got after the teachers (Matt 23:1-32) ... they were the blind leading the blind. They were responisble. When I teach, I need to be correct and teach what God wants me to teach, not what I want. I must be very careful not to teach for the wrong reasons. Jesus taught differently (Matt 7:28-29) ... I think no one can match Him. Hope this helps, Searcher |

Ther Bible is Right: I will answer only for me, as that is for whom I am held accountable to God. Yes! When preparing a message, while I was a pastor, I often struggled to know the will of God in the words I was to preach. I never repeated a sermon! I liked expository preaching because I think that allows more room for the Holy Spirit to speak to hearts. Topical preaching is easier for me. I felt too much of my personal feelings and knowledge of situations in the church might be brought into the message by my own will . For me, I learned to depend on the Holy Spirit to give me direction, rather than my feelings. Yes, I had Godly fear and respect for the responsiblity I was given. I look back at some of my first sermons and see how primative a preacher I was. I did grow and feel I became more sensitive and polished. This happened by the sweat and struggling I went through preparing myself, and the sermon. In my opimion this warning includes, but is not limited preachers, but Sunday School teachers, and anyone giving counseling. agape, justme |
