1 | verse explains nonChrist knowing savior | 2 Cor 5:15 | jaydnson | 178145
I know I read in the bible about how God will judge those you live by the world laws who don't know Jesus Christ and those who know Jesus Christ and are held by those laws. I can't find it again. That explained to me how Christ died for all and sins of all mankind were forgiven. What I read also explained that those not taught about Jesus Christ can also get to Heaven. Where did I read this or did I read this in another book and it is not in the bible? In Christ's name, Kim |

2 | verse explains nonChrist knowing savior | 2 Cor 5:15 | DocTrinsograce | 178148
Dear Kim, What you are talking about is an error that is called Universalism. However, the Scripture is clear: "And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12 ESV) God calls believers "my people" (Revelations 18:4), "my friends" (John 15:14), "my sheep" (John 10:27), "elect" (1 Peter 1:2). But not all men are His people (Hosea 1:9), nor are all men His friends (Psalm 37:20), nor are all men His sheep (Matthew 25:32), nor are all men elect (Jeremiah 6:30). In Him, Doc |

3 | What about the faith of Abraham and Enoc | 2 Cor 5:15 | rebar | 178206
Doc... I understand your answer, and as one who has heard the gospel and come to Christ, I thoroughly believe it my only option. However, Kim is asking about those who have not had that great privilege...is it not possible, that they can have faith in, and love God by the nature created in them, and thus have it credited to them as righteousness...just like Abraham and Enoch? 4 | What about the faith of Abraham and Enoc | 2 Cor 5:15 | DocTrinsograce | 178207
Hi, Rebar... No, I'm afraid not. Even sincerity will not merit salvation. As the old divines put it, "The covenant of works being broken by sin, and made unprofitable unto life, God was pleased to give forth the promise of Christ, the seed of the woman, as the means of calling the elect, and begetting in them faith and repentance; in this promise the gospel, as to the substance of it, was revealed, and is therein effectual for the conversion and salvation of sinners. (Genesis 3:15; Revelation 13:8) his promise of Christ, and salvation by him, is revealed only by the Word of God; neither do the works of creation or providence, with the light of nature, make discovery of Christ, or of grace by him, so much as in a general or obscure way; much less that men destitute of the revelation of Him by the promise or gospel, should be enabled thereby to attain saving faith or repentance. (Romans 1:17; Romans 10:14,15,17; Proverbs 29:18; Isaiah 25:7; Isaiah 60:2-3)" --1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith, Chapter 20, Paragraphs 1 and 2 In Him, Doc |
