Hi Kalos, I'm just curious, how you interpret this verse: 1 Cor 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What would this be if not a "prayer language"? I do not wish to debate, just to understand your view. Love in Christ, Mark |

Mark: I do not equate praying in a tongue with "a private prayer language." When I hear the term "private prayer language" I think of each person having his own special, unique language ("tongue") in which to pray. It is not praying in a tongue that I do not find in Scripture. What I do not find is a special, unique language that differs from one person to the next. I may be misunderstanding the term "private prayer language." But since the term is neither used nor defined in Scripture, I have no way of knowing if I am misdefining it. I do believe that "praying in a tongue" was and still is a biblically valid practice. Grace to you, Kalos |
