I've been following all of the posts on this thread as the topic is very interesting but I'm hoping all of you can tackle a somewhat related subject. What do we as modern christians mean when we use the words such as spiritual gifts, speaking in tongues and all other miraculous powers? How do we determine if they're from God or not? What do we use for a standard for that evaluation in today's world? Can we be certain? I'm hoping to get responses from as many of you as possible from the Forum. Blessings to you. Country Girl |

2 | searching for the truth | 1 Cor 11:3 | EdB | 125807 | ||
Country Girl Again this discussion realy isn't on spiritual gifts but rather Bible interpretation. However since you asked I would say the answer lies in what were you seeking when the spiritual gifts were manifested. If you were seeking God then I would say the gifts are of God and are genuine. If however you were seeking the gifts then I would seriously question their origination. If they agreed with scripture and brought glory and honor to God then I would suspect they are of God. However if they do nothing more than bring attention to the receiver and do nothing to glorify God I would say they are counterfeit. EdB |
