2 | Water, baptism and John 3:5/Titus 3:5 | John 3:5 | Mr and Mrs Rowdy | 110745
We do rise up as a "new creature," but it's up to us every day to rededicate our spirit to God and let Him keep on transforming us. As we draw nearer and nearer to Him, He draws nearer to us. I don't want to place an undue amount of emphasis on just baptism. It's the WHOLE of God's plan of salvation that transforms sinners to God's children in His kingdom.
3 | What's God's "Plan of Salvation"? | John 3:5 | Hank | 110749
Mr and Mrs Rowdy write: "It's the WHOLE of God's plan of salvation that transforms sinners to God's children in His kingdom." So then, what (or who) is this "WHOLE of God's plan of salvation" -- is it Christ and His finished work on the cross alone, or is it Christ PLUS something else, baptism for instance? Another way of putting the question is to ask, Is the statement, "salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone" lacking in some way, and if it is, what is lacking? And by what means are sinners transformed into God's children? -Hank
4 | What's God's "Plan of Salvation"? | John 3:5 | Arnie | 110780
The bible teaches that Christ is certainly the "Whole" of God's plan of salvation for mankind. Do we need anything else?? The Holy Spirit, Faith, Love, Obedience, we need all of these but are they not only possible for us but by Christ. |
