1 | who can explain to me? | John 1:1 | Mary01 | 120271 | ||
Hello Eveready2004, I've wondered that too. And that's why I'm here on the forum. I have a lot of questions I want answered. I just don't understand how the Bible can say in one verse that the Word was God and then in the next breath say that the Word was with God. Something's not right. Mary01 |

Here it talks about the Trinity, you have God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. (3 in 1). It is very hard for the finite human mind to comprehend an infinite term, but God always was, and he came to Earth in the form of a man (Jesus). Here is where a lot of people start getting lost. You need to remember that God is all powerful and he can be everywhere at the same time. So with that in mind you have to be able to see that he can be the Son and the Father at the same time. Now you also have the Holy Spirit, which God gave us as a Comfortor. There is the third in the Trinity. Where the word, Word, is used, it is refering to Jesus. Hope this helps. God Bless and keep studying. griffin_92 |

Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Jesus was not born Lord, neither was he born Christ. He was made Lord and Christ. Christ, as the Amplified John 1:1 above says is the Word, existed in the old testament times: 1 Corinthians 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. Jesus did not: Hebrews 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. The old testament is filled with the shadow of Jesus, not Jesus himself. Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Praise the Lord! Norm |
