Subject: What of Baptism? |
Bible Note: when the church was originally formed, it was for the most part one body. sure there were little sects on this and that, but to me the teachings were more unified; as the doctrine was "new" to most. but now! there hundereds of sects. all claiming to be the "truth" i have not found one particular denomonation whose doctrine i fully agree with. my doctrine is the bible, and if you look at most denominations they stem from some disagreement that caused them to branch off from another.paul said that the body was to be unified, of one mind, "beware the concision" he warned. so for me to be baptised into this or that denomination it would be necessary for me to conform fully to its teachings. and i just havent found that yet.don't misunderstand i am a conservative christian. and do teach my children, and tell them of christ and his gift of love toward us. 1 john 4:1 tells us that we should investigate to be sure: as paul said that we are convinced in our own minds; to me this implies investigation. so thats my main "hinderance" from being baptised. and as a result, i do not feel that this is disobedience but the opposite! i take this very seriously, and christ has wrought great works in my life; as i look to him to guide me, so i do not feel that this discretion is counted as error toward me. i really love the fact that you all are so passionate. |
