Subject: What of Baptism? |
Bible Note: We are not saved by works, true. Yet our works are signs of our faith. The Bible also says that faith without works is dead.(James 2)In other words you can't have one without the other. To deem something mere ritual, when in fact, it is a matter of obedience is wrong. Whether this thing or that thing is a matter of "being doomed" I'll leave up to God. I guess what I would ask you is, regardless of what other people do, can yopu say of yourself that you are obeying Christ to the best of your ability if you know what he has commanded you to do and you don't do it? God doesn't just want us to be hearers of the word, he wants us to be doers of the word.(Rom 2:13) As far as other people go, I think we have to leave that up to God. I will not judge others, to say whether they be doomed or not. That is God's decision, for he alone knows the heart.(1 Sam 16:7) But it IS up to us to examine our heart. (2 Cor 13:5)What is keeping YOU from obeying in this instance? |
