Bible Question: I am not. I am stating that the Author of Hebrews uses the creation account as allegory, and his allegory contradicts a literal 7-day 24hour creation. Read it for yourself. Hebrews 3:5 through 4:11. If the Author of Hebrews feels at liberty to allegorize the creation, is it unreasonable for us to ponder such things? |
Bible Answer: Perhaps if you explained how you see Hebrew 3:5 - 4:11 as being an allegory the Creation I would be able to grasp what it is your saying. Deut. 12:9,10; Josh. 21:44; 1 Kin. 8:56 The rest spoken about in Hebrew 3:5-19 was the rest of the promise land. God made the Children of Israel wander in the wilderness for 40 years because of their unrest. Hebrew 4:1-11 is really speaking of Jesus (Shiloh) The Rest Giver. Jesus was the fulfillment of the Sabbath Rest and this passage is speaking of the fulfillment and those that refuse to enter. EdB |
