Subject: proselytizing at work |
Bible Note: Brian Yes you can share at work and yes it may cost you your job. But is that what God wants? Scripture says we are to do our job as unto the Lord. In other words our work will be faultless. When an employer looks at us he should see his best worker. Then when he questions our motives we can tell him were are Christians following Christ directives. Which do you think better represents Christ, being fired for witnessing or being such a good worker we are a standout? Which do you think would cause a person to want to become, a person that gets fired or a person that gives an honest days work for and honest days pay and does it with joy ? Your also right about the movie we do tell everyone about the movie we saw. However if a person says they hate murder mysteries do we tell them they are messed up and need to learn to love murder mysteries or do we tell them about an interesting plot that might interest them enough to go to the movie. Often when we share Jesus we find someone that isn't saved and hammer them over how wrong they are. What we need to be doing is living a Christian life before them in such a way that out of curiosity they will ask why are you different. Then we can tell them about Jesus. More are turned from Christ by people with good intentions that in their zeal to share Jesus forgets to remember to treat their neighbor as they would like to be treated. What converted Rome to Christianity wasn’t what Christians said it was how they lived and in the case of Rome how they died. The early church lived Christ before the eyes of pagans, the pagans saw something in the Christians that they didn’t have and wanted it. EdB |
