Subject: So what do we learn from all this? |
Bible Note: Greetings Aixen7z4! I just became more aware of the effects of spyware when I switched to a broad band modem. I was doing some cleaning up of my computer and found literally dozens of spyware programs using up system resources. They use up ram, they slow down your start up, they can switch your home page, and they can send off information about your browsing and other personal information to third parties. This is why I said that they were basically viruses. Now, I carefully watch out for them! :-) By the way, you are correct not to open attachements unless you are expecting them. They are very dangerous. Our church secretary began having problems with the church's office computer a while back. I came in to look at it, and after a day or two of working on it, I discoved several viruses. I sent them to the Norton web site to do the online scan. They literally found hundreds of infected files. To check the accuracy of the scan, I ran it on mine. I had zero infected files. The problem was that she was opening up all of the these e-mail attachments and getting infected at an alarming rate. Have a great Thanksgiving! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
