Subject:  are we saved by grace alone?

Bible Note:  Belinda

We are saved by grace: There is God's laws that says "thou shalt and thou shalt not". When we in our sinful nature break God's law we have sinned. It is by God's grace which is unmerrited favor that He sent His son in our place to die, for our sin. We know that "the wages of sin is death"(Rom 6:23). But if you do not have faith (believe)that God is God and sent his Son to die for you, you can't have faith in grace. God gives you the gift of faith to receive His son into your life (Rom 10:17).

In summation you have to first of all believe that there is a God who could send His Son in your place for your death sentance.

In referrence to "enduring to the end", When you receive Jesus into your heart you then want to do the good things Jesus did. In Acts 10:38 it says that Jesus went about doing good, So if you are to be like Jesus you will go about doing good also.

When you do though, Satan does not like this and will tempt you and try to get you back. This is were God allows you through trail to grow up in your faith and believe on Him, for "without faith (assurance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1)it is impossible to please God.

In referrence to John 3:5. What it means when it reads that "except a man be born of water and the spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven" is this. First when it says "except a man be born of water" God is talking about our literal birth. In other words, you have to be born in order to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. It by no means is talking about water baptisim. If this was the case, the theif on the cross would have not been saved. But Jesus said to him "today you will be with me in paradise". Secondly, being born of the spirit is the key. You can not enter the kingdom of heaven unless you receive Christ substitutionary death for you and receive the Holy Sprit into you heart.
