Bible Question:
Justme, How do people see Hebrews chapter 6 as supporting a salvation that can not be lost? Do they look at this as an impossible illustration (He 6:4-8) to highlight the better state of the Christian? Who are the people who have "once been enlightened"? AO |
Bible Answer: Aspiring Overseer: You have worthy asperation, and a high calling. If you look at the context the whole direction is talking about those who have been enlightened and that the subject is bringing them back to repentance. Many have undergone great leeenghts to subject believers to believe this shows you can loose your salvation, which is not at all what tese verses mean. I mmmmaaaintain that faith that falters has a flaw in it from the first. What a cruel God we would to have us in connstant termoil wondering if we are saved now and lost tommrow. A solid base of studing Scripture is one was to become a deserner of the word. This is an important conor stone of doctrine, and I pray you can grasp it. Can I be of any further help? justme. |
