Bible Question:
What are your views of once saved always saved? This has been an issue for a while and I am not sure that I completely understand the Bible's stance on this. I can think of several scriptures that make me wonder. |
Bible Answer: I hold to the Scriptural view which says; Heb. 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. (Heb. 6:4-6 NASB) If a man abide not me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (John 15:6) Rom. 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. Rom. 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
