Subject: No, the dead are still DEAD...not alive! |
Bible Note: "People who beleive in Christians going to heaven at death must also beleive that animals go to heaven or hell at death also. Since both have the breath of life, and both have souls." Matt..animals do not have a soul. Genesis 1...man is made in the image of God and in His likeness, a living soul. Isaiah 38:16 O LORD, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live. Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Matt, God did not breath into any animal's nostrils, but rather 'spoke' them into existence. 1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Job 10:12 Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit. Job 33:4 The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. When reading scripture one must listen to the text and determing as the Holy Spirit leads, when it is speaking of physical death of the body or spiritual death of the spirit condemned to hell, or the spirit of man redeemed and promised eternal life with the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. We are spirit, we have a soul(mind, will, emotions) and we live in a body. Matt, I have a question for you....does scripture not say that we will be resurrected forever to be with the Lord? Is that not eternal life? Mark 12:24-27 24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? 25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven. 26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? 27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err. Romans 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 1 John 3:1-3 1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Matt...do you not hope in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour for your eternal soul to live with the Lord through eternity as scripture promises? If not.....what is your hope? God bless |
