Bible Note: Greetings Goodnewsminister! Scripture is quite clear on this matter my friend! 1) Mt. 25:41 - "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.'" 2) Mt. 25:46 - "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life." 3) Jude 7 - "In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire." 4) Luke 16:23 - "In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side." 5) Luke 16:28 - "for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment." 6) Rev. 14:11 - "And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name." 7) Rev. 20:11 - "Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 If anyone?s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire." 8) Rev. 21:8 - "But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars?their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." 9) Mt. 5:22 - "But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ?Raca,? is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ?You fool!? will be in danger of the fire of hell." These are just a few which mention the reality of hell and it's torment. We can either accept what Scripture says, or we can explain it away! But, eternal punishment is a reality nonetheless.
