Subject: What do you believe? |
Bible Note: GNM - Yes, it is important when we post to identify the words of others. For example, in your reply to my post, you have cut my words and inserted them in your reply, however you failed to identfy them as such. This of course would lead to confusion on the Forum as what I am saying contradicts your position. I wrote: "See Rev 20:12-15. According to God's Word, man is an immortal being. Where he spends eternity is up to him." (Even this might be met with controversy on the Forum, you don't want to reap MY firestorm do you?) I also wrote this: The Apostle Paul expressed what all Christians hope(this is not wishful thinking, but CONFIDENT EXPECTATION) "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." (Please read 2 Cor 5:1-8) I accept God's Truth that it is appointed for men to die once (Heb 9:27)- yes, my body will die if CHrist tarries, and I also accept God's TRUTH thatI WAS DEAD in my sin (Eph 2:1) but Romans 8:10 assures me that my spirit is alive because of the righteousness of Christ. My spirit has been regenerated by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5)and I look forward to the regeneration of my body on that Great Day when we will all be changed . . . and we will all see the Truth of God together and in unity. There will be no disagreement or dispute - oh that will be Heaven indeed! How could Jesus have spoken with Moses (Mt 17:3)if he was asleep in the grave? Dead men don't talk . . . but those who are alive in the Spirit do. If, as you say, we are unconscious as in sleep when our bodies die, why would God chose to speak during dreams? (Joseph, Daniel, et al, me included!) As for me, I do not believe that my spirit lies a moldering in the grave awaiting the Ressurrection Day. My spirit will go to be where Jesus is - I don't care if He's in the middle of the desert, on the Moon or at Wal-Mart; where HE IS, there I shall be also. As far as we know from God's Word,(Acts 2:33) Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father. (Stephen even saw Him - Acts 7:56) And where is the Father? (Mt 6:9)Hint, He's not on earth. My body may be left for a time, but I don't expect to remain here! Dare I say the neither of us will be disappointed for we have this Hope . . .(Romans 5:5) mommapbs PS: Can we agree on the salvation that is ours in Christ? If so, then isn't this is all that really matters? |
