Bible Note: Actually, Ed, (coming from where you are pointing) I believe the promises AND the moral laws apply. However the fine line of difference which is probably the fine line of debate here, is that God desires us to worship, obey, follow from the heart. Obedience to the letter of issues like tatoos do not correct conditions of the heart. External obedience is not what God seeks. If it were, there would be no need for Jesus. One can obey externally in all the moral laws and still be out of God's will. I would tell someone that scripture forbids it and that they should seek the Lord for the 'change of heart'. But if someone has not matured to that level and has the tatoo anyway, or already has one, condemnation is not in order. They are, after all, His. The direction you are pointing clearly states that FAITH IN and OBEDIENCE TO the word of God is the ONLY way the born again believer can receive anything from God. |
