Bible Question:
19:28 Tattoos??-Okay or not for those under a "new covenant"? Any thoughts? |
Bible Answer: william_wallace How do you feel about graffiti? Since we are the temple of the Holy Spirit if we write on the temple aren’t we in effect putting graffiti on it. What does gaffiti do to a building? It detracts from it, causes us to question it’s surroundings and make it less desirable to be around. I think this is the same thing that happens when we put graffiti on our bodies. I believe there is also pride issues involved where we want to stand out or attract attention. Maybe we are not comfortable with ourselves or think it is not enough just being in Christ Jesus. Maybe we think we can do a better job than God did making us unique or desirable. God doesn’t mince his words when he said in Leviticus 19:28 'You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD. I think tattoos are a mistake especially for a Christian. I you had one before you were saved, don’t worry about it. You have become a new creation and the old has passed away. EdB |
