Subject: what is baptism |
Bible Note: Kin, if you will study the passage concerning Phillip and the Ethiopian, you will find more assumptions are necessary to support your point of view than Nolan's or mine, which is that salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Believer's baptism follows as an act of obedience, as one of two ordinances of the church. The other is communion, the celebration of the Lord's Supper in remembrance of Him. The teaching that salvation is a gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ without any additional requirements goes back considerably further than 200 years ago. It goes back to an event that happened at the cross of Jesus. --Hank |
