Bible Question:
Dear casiv, I have been reading this thread, and do not quite get the focus of attention you are putting on the FATHER. I well understand that all things were created by God the Father, but now we live in a age when the fulness of the triune God has been made evident. Furthermore: 'And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth."' Matthew 28:18 NASB. Also: "...when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed--for our testimony to you was believed. To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Thessalonians 1:10-12 NASB. Presently, our salvation and glorification rests in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. He has been given all authority. I suspect that emotionally dwelling on the first Person of the Godhead feels good, but we cannot neglect the spiritual reality that the author and perfecter of our faith is the Lord Jesus. So... "...fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2 NASB If we are going to fix our eyes on a single Person of the Godhead, should it not be Jesus? Bless you, my friend, in Christ Jesus, charis |
Bible Answer: PERSONAL NOTE - CHARIS I am fixing on the Father because I try to fix on God. When I think of God I think of the FATHER. When I think of JESUS I think of the Son knowing that God is implied to another Christian. When I think of the HOLY SPIRIT, I think of His image He gave me when I was Created, but God is still inferred by other Christians. I think that using all CAPS is giving praise to GOD knowing what the OT copiests went through before they wrote the name of God. God has our respect and we may choose to show it by doing little things as part of our daily lives, like using CAPS. Also, Sir Pent is trying to get us organized a bit. One of the suggestions was that we try real hard to stay on topic. I wouldn't even mention it but you have always been kind and respectful in your notes and so I believe you will take the suggestion in the right way :) GOD Bless Jensen |
